Thank you for your patience with my lack of posts earlier this week. I took a little blogging breather. As I learned from reading Brené Brown’s latest book Braving the Wilderness, “There is the in-breath and there is the out-breath, and it’s easy to believe that we must exhale all the time, without ever inhaling. But the inhale is absolutely essential if you want to continue to exhale.”
Over the past couple of days, I’ve been catching up and spending a little time re-nesting in my new space. I organized a few things, thought about my decorating plan, did some research (and then went shopping), and got motivated to continue work on my spaces. During all of this, I realized I owed you a living room update. – I got a rug more than a month ago but never shared it.
So here it is.
A Rug for my Living Room:
It’s the Magnolia Home Tulum Rug by Loloi. You can find it various places online. I purchased mine from Bed, Bath & Beyond and used one of their 20% off coupons.
I fell in love with this rug as soon as I saw it. I add initially planned to use it in my bedroom, but it didn’t quite work there. Thankfully, it makes a beautiful addition to my living room. I am in love with the color, pattern, and big chunky tassels.
When I added the rug, I also swapped out several of the throw pillows with ones I purchased from West Elm. I was actually struggling with my selection of the green chair because it seemed a bit out of place with my other color choices. To tie it in, I ended up with a green pillow and a green vase. Just like that, everything made so much more sense.
You might have noticed another addition to this space.
I had been trying to decide what to put opposite the green chair – more seating, a bench, or something else. Then, I happened upon this plaid patchwork pouf at a local store House15143. The pouf just spoke to me.
I’m sure with that choice I’m breaking so many design rules. And even though it may not remain in this space, there was something about it that simply seemed right. Plus, it felt so perfect for fall. And if those weren’t enough reasons, my cats adore it! So, win-win-win.
I’ve also ordered curtain rods to test out curtains and sheers for this space and my office. As for painting, I’m still on the fence. My plan now is to paint my office, see how it looks, and go from there. Fingers crossed.
Whatever happens, stay tuned as I’ll be sharing more updates in the coming weeks.
As always, thanks for joining me back here on IBC and inviting me into your busy life. It’s an honor and a privilege to share my home with you.
