the other day the lovely and super talented maureen from maureen cracknell handmade pinned the cutest little print. this one.
so i used it as inspiration for a chalkboard drawing for that little chalkboard i painted on my cabinet door.
remember?
anyway, here’s how it turned out!
pretty cute, right?
now, i know it’s perfect. but i’m kind of tired of perfect. i’m guess i’m learning to appreciate the value of imperfection. the beauty of homemade. the importance of character.
with thousands of blogs and places like pinterest, i think the pressure to have everything ‘perfect’ is so high these days. don’t you? you must have perfect photographs, perfect ideas, perfect wording. it’s exhausting.
and with a goal of simplifying this year, i’ve kicked perfection to the curb and it’s not longer welcome here!
is anyone else feeling this way too? or am i out on a limb (pun intended) on this one?
at any rate, i hope you like my little tree …. imperfections and all!

Love the chalkboard tree! Fabulous!
I love your chalkboard tree! And I love what slip4 said above, “Imperfect leaves room for fun!” Amen!
Imperfections are a sign of handmade art! Love your tree = Perfectly imperfect!!
I loooovve it!!!! It’s beautiful! Perfect for that spot!!
Looks pretty perfect to me . . . 🙂
Oh, I love it!!! We are SO in sync, it’s scary! Yes, I am with you!! Here’s to being perfectly imperfect, quilts and all!!
And, thanks for the shout out! 😉
charmingly imperfect!
Your chalkboard tree is wonderful! You are smart to give up on perfection – it’s intimidating to others anyway. Imperfect leaves room for fun 🙂
I this it’s pretty great! Perfect is way overrated.
I love it and think it is perfect just the way it is!
Yay for keeping it real! Your rendering turned out really cute. I’ve yet to erase my giant advent calendar from my chalk wall but I’m on the hunt for something inspiring.
I just ran across your blog through Pinterest. How lovely you run an inn! What a wonderful thing and you really seem to be talented. The rooms and food look gorgeous. Best of luck in all of your ventures!
That is really lovely. You are talented.
I am with you perfect, should be thrown out, crafts is no place for perfect. Handmade should have a little of the artist who made the creation, in it. If 6 people sat down with the same supplies and same pattern and instructions you would have 6 different looks of the same thing. Just found your site and I really like it! I will be back to see what other wonderfuless is here.
