Hey, everyone! Happy Monday! Thank you so much for all of your help last week with my curtain decision. I actually decided on a panel and placed my order. I’m expecting the curtains to arrive this week, so I’ll be sure to give you all of the details once they’re here. I’m crossing my fingers that I made the right choice.

Paint Dipped Basket |Inspired by Charm

Today I just wanted to share a fun, easy, and colorful tutorial with you. In addition to my posts here on IBC, I write for a few other blogs. One of those blogs is MyColortopia. I usually post there once a month and cover everything from selecting a paint color palette to using accent colors to choosing wall colors. It’s a fun space where I get to talk color.

Recently, Glidden challenged me (and my MyColortopia blogging buddies) to create a quick project using their paint. I didn’t do this project with the intention of sharing it here on IBC, but I was pleased with the way it turned out and wanted to make sure you saw it.

Basically, I took a basket I purchased from Target last fall and gave it a paint dip treatment with some Grab-N-Go paint in Red Delicious. As much as I loved the basket the way it was, this added a fresh pop of color and pizzazz.

To share the quick tutorial, I’m using a new-to-me platform called Snapguide. It’s a fun little program for quick and easy tutorials like this. I’m not sure how often I’ll use it, but if it’s something you like, let me know in the comments and I can try to incorporate it more.

Anyhoo, you can check out my quick little project below:

Check out How to Create a Colorful Paint Dipped Basket by Michael Wurm, Jr. on Snapguide.

What do you think? Have you ever paint-dipped anything in your home?

While I do write for MyColortopia, this is not a sponsored post. I just thought the project turned out cool and wanted to share it here, too.

Cute basket. Not a fan of the SnapGuide though. Not sure if it was just me/my outdated work brower, but parts of your text description were cut off and I couldn’t figure out how to “scroll” down to see the rest. And I find it irritating to have to click through a guide vs just scrolling down through your normal “tutorial” type posts.

Gotcha! I appreciate the input. Like I said, I don’t think I’ll be using it. I guess everything is worth try though.

      Thanks!

      xo Michael

I really like your basket. That is a great idea and it adds a little “snap” to your corner. Ok I know that was not funny…

      Hahaha! Love it!

I picked up a cute basket at the thrift store and let my daughter paint the bottom half in white and we put a potted fern in it. It looks so cute and so does yours! I love the angle of the paint with yours. As for the snap guide, it worked fine for me embedded in your post. I quite liked it! There was a little button to click to expand out the picture so I could see it all and it was quick and easy to scroll through. No complaints here!

The Snap Guide worked great in Safari and I really liked it! It made sense, was easy to use and was a great idea. I give it two thumbs up.

I did have to laugh when your e mail promised that your basket project would ” Take an old basket from bold to boring…”

The project wasn’t boring at all, great idea and nice accent in the room! 🙂

Oops! Slight dyslexia there. Boring to BOLD! Haha.

    Hi Michael,

Just stumbled across this and love it!!! I can’t wait to update a very old, handed down wicker hamper that needs a sprucing up. I also love SnapGuide – quicker than reading a blog entry with instructions and utilizing pictures that are worth 1,000 words each. On my computer, I opened with Google Chrome and it worked spectacularly.

    Thanks for the inspiration!

I am a self-identified basket addict and this is just some next level gorgeousness! I love it! And I love your blog: so happy I stumbled upon it!
