I really hate to say this because so many folks have expressed the same sentiment. To be honest, I am pretty much over winter. I’m not sure if this has been a rough winter (based on temperatures and actual snowfall), but it sure feels that way. At this point the snow piles around my driveway are about as high as they can get. I can barely throw more snow on them without fear of a mini-avalanche.

Thankfully, though, there are some positives. We are more than halfway through February and signs of spring will start to appear mid-March. In the meantime, I’m doing what I can to keep things warm and sunny on the inside. This year I teamed up with Glade® to share ideas for creating the best feelings in your home all year long. And I can’t tell you a better way to bring on those sort of feelings than with a delicious martini and some fabulous smelling candles.

Glade® recently launched their Limited Edition Spring Collection.  Although I tend to be pretty picky with scents, I’m loving the Let Loose™ scent. There’s something about burning a candle that has an instant soothing effect on me, so I try to light one every day. These little guys deliver a great scent, plus they look adorable. The yellow / orange almost matches my dining room walls.

Anyway, after a hard week of work, a candle, cocktail, and stack of magazines makes me one happy guy. Inspired by the new invigorating scents from Glade, I decided to try a floral-inspired cocktail, the White Cosmo. Plus, in the past I’ve shared cocktail recipes using St. Germain (which I love) and wanted to give you yet another reason to pick up a bottle if you haven’t already done so.

White Cosmo

Here’s what you will need:

2 ounces vodka
2 ounces St. Germain
1 ounce white cranberry juice
1/2 ounce lemon juice
edible flowers for garnish

Let’s get shaking:

To a cocktail shaker filled with ice, add the vodka, St. Germain, white cranberry juice, and lemon juice. Shake vigorously. Strain into a martini glass and garnish with an edible flower.

Even though I love a traditional Cosmopolitan, this may be a new favorite. The light floral touches of the St. Germain make spring seem so close I could literally taste it.

I’m also a big fan of the garnish. I picked up a small pack of edible flowers at my local grocery and it was just the thing to make this cocktail special. Isn’t it gorgeous?

As a bonus (whether you are a cocktail fan or not), my friends at Glade® and I are giving away a set of the new Limited Edition Spring Collection Candles, plus a $100 Spafinder.com Gift Card. That will certainly help chase away the winter blues.

You are a cutie! Today is my birthday and I received a gift from you and you didn’t even know it! I am truly inspired by your posting. You don’t have a gift. You are a gift. Never stop sharing!!

Hum I’m not normally a Vodka gal (tequila is my normally “go-to”), but this I just might have to try! And I’m totally over winter too! I live in Texas, so one day I’m laying out in the 80 degree weather, and the next day it’s 17 degrees and iced over. Crazy!

This Cosmo sounds delicious and could not be more timely. One of my best pal’s birthdays was yesterday and he moved to NYC about 12 yrs. ago. The last time I saw him was 2 yrs. ago was when we were able to meet up at VLADA Martini Bar when I was in NYC on business. I cannot WAIT to share this with him!!
    xo
{PS: Thanks for the giveaway – I have to admit that those Glade candles pack a TON of scent and I grab a few whenever I am at Target} {PSS: don’t judge me and my candle addiction} 😉

Michael, I completely forgot that there is such a thing as white cranberry juice. I am a classic Cape Cod kind of gal with Cosmo as my second drink and I always have a bottle of St. Germain stocked because it goes with everything. Did you know you can get those gorgeous bottles in minis? Excellent little gifts. Anyway, this is probably going to be my favorite new drink forever and I love you for introducing us. 🙂 Also, any candle called Let Loose must smell great!

I know!? Isn’t it gorgeous?! And I have yet to see mini sized St. Germain! PERFECT little gift. I’m going to be on the hunt! Great tip.

I love the thought of a white martini, which is so appropriate because I live in the frozen tundra known as MN, where we probably won’t see green grass until sometime in mid July!
I’m not familiar with St. Germain, I assume it’s a type of liquor?

drink looks like it is delicious; will have to look for those candles!

I bought some St. Germaine’s last year and barely used it. Thanks for the recipe. I love a martini 🙂
