Although this isn’t the first Monday of the new year, this is the first Weekend Wanderlust of 2014. It’s actually been at least a month since my last one, so I figured it was about time.

Plant – In the past, I’ve tried planting indoor terrariums or gardens with little luck. I usually ended up killing the plants for one reason or another. Recently I found a kit that includes everything you need, plus instructions, for creating the coolest little fern terrarium. I had it assembled in no time. Later this week I’ll share all of the details.

Donate – This weekend my friends and I attended a “Cash Bash” for my old high school’s music booster program. We often complain about the lack of things to do on weekends, especially in the winter, so we thought this mightbe fun. We had a blast and I ended up winning $100! Not too shabby.

Bake – I made my second pie this weekend. This one was a slab pie full of three kinds of berries. I was a little nervous about the crust this time, but it ended up coming together beautifully. I made the pie for a post for Better Homes & Garden’s Delish Dish blog. It will be up this Wednesday, and I’ll be doing a little recap of it here on IBC, too.

Plan – I’m so excited to be heading to my first ALT Summit this week. In case you’ve never heard of it it’s a conference for bloggers held every year in Salt Lake City. This weekend I started planning what clothes I’m taking and I got a little packing done. I bought my ticket a while ago and I’m so thrilled it’s finally time for the conference! Are any of you attending?

Organize – Now that things have settled down after the holidays, I’m doing my best to get organized. I picked up four of these lidded baskets from Crate and Barrel to use underneath my little island / work station in the office. Before I had craft supplies stored in small plastic bins in the basement. I want to get things I use frequently moved upstairs and I love that these baskets are more attractive and have lids. Now I just need to convince Sebastian to get out of them so I can start filling them up.

Remember – I stumbled upon this opening sequence from the movie Adventures in Babysitting a few days ago and shared a clip of it on Instagram. I adored this movie as a kid and this particular part is one of my favorites. It was so interesting to see how many people on Instagram also loved this movie and this scene in particular. What was your favorite movie growing up?

That’s it for my weekend. What fun things did you do or find? Have a spectacular week, everyone!

I finished taking down the porch Christmas decorations but I didn’t put them all away. I have to wait now until our kitty Lucy decides to get out of the middle of the wreath.

It was Icewine Festival for me this weekend! Got some great ideas for tasty icewine cocktails. After a few hours out in the cold, spent the rest of the weekend warming up inside!
