Well everyone, I am thrilled to report that the office painting is complete! I was bound and determined to finish it yesterday and I did just that. I still have the entryway nook and closet to paint, but those will be done at a later date.

And Then There was a Desk | Inspired by Charm

I couldn’t be happier with my color choices! To recap, I used Aloof Gray, Larchmere, and Lighter Mint. All of which are from Sherwin Williams.

I pushed myself to get the painting finished because late last week I made a few furniture decisions, crossed my fingers, and ordered a desk and some shelves. They arrived quickly so painting became a priority.

And Then There was a Desk | Inspired by Charm

I ended up ordering the go-cart white console table from CB2. Well, as you can see, I actually ordered two of them. Buying any kind of furniture online makes me a little anxious, but I’m so pleased that they fit great and look wonderful! I stole a chair from my dining room table because my ugly, old office chair just wasn’t cutting it.

This little office area does need a pop of color, but that will happen with accessories. Of course, I couldn’t help but fthrow in a few for these photos. And how about the lamp? It’s from Lamps Plus and the base is the exact color of my Larchmere wall!

And Then There was a Desk | Inspired by Charm

I also ordered a couple stairway bookcases from CB2 for the wall opposite the desk area. That’s what’s in the boxes on the floor. I haven’t had time to put the bookcases together yet. I can’t wait to get them up and styled!

And Then There was a Desk | Inspired by Charm

While it’s now finally painted, the back area of this space is still looking like a bit of a hot mess. My friends came over last night to watch the CMAs so I needed some quick seating. The infamous cow chairs made a quick return. They aren’t staying in the space permanently, but they can graze (See what I did there?) until I find a sofa.

Anyway I’m thrilled to have made it to this point because this is when the fun begins. I’m really hoping to fill in a few more of these major pieces and elements before the holidays arrive.

Well, since these bookcases aren’t going to ensemble themselves, I better get busy! Have a great one.

Really funny…I just purchased the Go Cart Desk from CB2. It is still in my car; maybe today is the day that I will put it together!

Your office is shaping up nicely. I share your painting woes. We recently moved into a new home and painted six rooms in two weeks. Since I’m on a roll, would you care to share the paint color for that lovely pink chest of drawers? It looks perfect with Aloof Gray. Thank you.
