Well, Operation: Making of a Christmas Shoppe is in full swing! It seems that a lot of you are enjoying the pictures via Instagram and Facebook. So many of you asked if I have an online store; unfortunately, I don’t. It’s something I started at one point, but the amount of work and time involved in running an online retail operation is something I really can’t handle by myself. Unless some of you want to work for me or I can be cloned in the near future. Also, I kind of just want you to come visit me. Anyway, I’m actually making excellent progress on my shoppe. I’m a bit more organized this year and I’m so thankful I gave myself more than three days this time around. I’m actually able to enjoy the process instead of being a hot mess.

Unfortunately, however, I haven’t been able to work on my shelves. As you may have heard, there is a storm coming this way so the weather hasn’t allowed me to do any sanding or staining outside. Based on the forecast for the next several days, moving this project indoors may be my only hope of getting it finished this week.

In other news, I’m thinking about changing my hallway decor a bit. If you remember, this summer I put up a tie-dye ombre embroidery hoop art display. Well, I’m officially sick of it. If one of the hoops gets knocked off the wall, there is a domino effect of falling hoops. It’s like a mini-avalanche of frustration. I’ve also noticed that once a hoop falls and hits the floor, the fabric tends to pucker around the edges, and that beautiful, clean, wrinkle-free look is gone. Right now I am in the process of collecting and painting a bunch of white frames. I’m also purchasing some new art work and searching through my collection ofphotos so that I can actually display some images of my family and friends. You know how some people have too many pictures of their family and friends around the house? Well, I’m the exact opposite. I have none. That’s right, not a single one. All that is about to change. I’m hoping to have that project started and almost finished before Thanksgiving.

And, on a more serious note, my thoughts go out to everyone affected by Hurricane Sandy.

How was your weekend? Any fun plans for this week? Are you ready to turn the calendar to November?

Your shop is looking great, hard to believe it’s time for Christmas already!

Looking good! Is your shop in your house? Do you still have your B&B? Curious minds want to know! LOL! I LOVE those little needle felted snowmen and ornaments? I want to make some! They are the bomb, the bees knees….you will sell out of them I predict!
I also love your shelves and I too like the look of brackets else instead of looking at the interesting items on the shelves, you’re busy trying to figure out how the shelves are hanging there….brackets eliminate that issue!
I have to go do something creative besides cooking and eating. Whoops, I forgot, I have butter coming to room temperature to make cookies. Ha! Ha! It’s the Fall weather….I’m busy “bulking up” I think. TTYL!

The ruby candlesticks caught my eye. They would make beautiful hostess gifts for the holidays!
