Wow. Things have just been so busy around here recently. (Fall always is.) I thought I’d use today’s post to update you on a few of the latest happenings.
First, the amazing people at Better Homes and Gardens have asked me to be a permanent blogger for the Style Spotters blog! How wonderful is that?! You may remember I wrote this post and this post for them back in September. Moving forward I will be posting every other Monday beginning October 29. I have some other fun projects in the works for their site as well. Stay tuned for more.
I can’t believe we’re already nearing the end of October. You know what’s just around the corner? Christmas. Having my little gift shoppe means that the holiday season has to start somewhat earlier than I’d like. Beginning next Friday, I’m going to be transforming my shop from fall to Christmas. Last year, I squeezed everything into three days. It was a bit of a nightmare. So this year, I’m giving myself a good week to get all the new products priced and set up. Like last year, I’ll be posting my progress on the various social media outlets if you’d like to follow along.
But before I begin to get ready for Christmas, there is an overflowing box of amazing Martha Stewart craft supplies that is calling my name. I don’t think I mentioned it, but I’m getting a new dinning room table. This one. Because my current table is in horrible shape, it always has to be dressed with a tablecloth. I’m not a big fan of tablecloths for everyday use, so I will be thrilled when I no longer need them. Tablecloth burning party, anyone? Anyway, I’m thinking about using my stash of craft supplies to make a fall-inspired runner. I have a plan in my head. Let’s hope it works.
As I mentioned yesterday, I’m also hoping to squeeze in time to hang the brackets for the shelves in my room. I know I can’t get to the wood this weekend, but having the brackets up will be a huge step in the right direction. I’m really looking forward to getting these shelves finished. All my books have been boxed up in the basement for about four years. It’s time to sort through them and give them a permanent home.
Last but not least, I need to tell you about Buick. In 2013 Buick is launching a new vehicle, Encore. So, earlier this week, they invited me and nine other bloggers to their headquarters in Detroit to learn about Buick and the Encore. I had a fabulous 24 hours in Detroit and met a few of the most talented bloggers out there. Upon returning home, the goal of each blogger is to design a car via images on Pinterest. There will be at least two rounds, and one blogger’s design will be chosen as the winner. This design concept, not the actual car, will then be showcased at the NYC Auto Show. Pretty amazing, right? I thought so too. While I know nothing about cars, I figured this would be an amazing opportunity to stretch my design mind and skills to create something totally different. The completed Pinterest board will be ready this Monday and I’ll follow that up with a blog post on Wednesday. Until then, be sure to check out my board. I would really appreciate any comments, likes, and repins. We need to show Buick I’m the guy they are looking for, right? Thank you so much in advance.
So that’s the latest in a nutshell. What’s going on with you? Any big plans for the weekend?
