Yep, I bought a skateboard. Pretty ‘rad’, right?

Inspired By Charm

For those of you that have been following me for a while probably know that I didn’t buy this piece of wood with wheels as my newest mode of transportation.

Inspired By Charm

A new antique/consignment shop opened up on Sunday, and as soon as my Mom mentioned she saw their Open flag, I was there!

Inspired By Charm

While I was there, I stumbled about this cute little skateboard. I clearly have no idea how old it is or if it’s anything special, but for $7 this baby was coming home with me! I instantly feel in love with the red chippy paint ‘Roller Derby Logo’. Swoon!

Inspired By Charm

Where did my new skateboard end up you ask? Well, it’s now serving as a little plant stand/riser on my porch.

Inspired By Charm

Kind of perfect, right?

Inspired By Charm

It’s totally unexpected and maybe a little weird, but it fits in perfectly. I kind of wedged it in next to another pot so it won’t roll away with my plants.

Inspired By Charm

And yes, I’ve already started planting. It’s a sickness. But a really good kind of sickness. Do you love to plant flowers as much as me?

Inspired By Charm

This is the back porch of my house. See the little skateboard tucked in there?

Inspired By Charm

This space probably looks familiar as it’s the porch with my DIY outdoor shelves and vertical hens and chicks planter.

Inspired By Charm

How are my hens and chicks doing? They are doing wonderfully!

Inspired By Charm

Since I posted this on my blog, family and friends have been dropping off hens and chicks left and right. Thanks everyone! This guy will be full in no time.

Inspired By Charm

So what do you think of my new skateboard plant stand? Love it? Hate it?

And now it’s time for Day Two of my Pinterest Party Extravaganza!!

I hope your mother yells at you for being in that skateboard in flip flops!!!! That’s the first thing I thought as I started reading your post….sorry, but as a mom to four kids, including 5 and 8 year old boys, fear of someone losing a toe is part of my daily life!! Love the board, love your plants.

*on that skateboard…love autocorrect…or maybe not

How creative! I love it! And the hen and chicks idea too. Gardening a sickness? No, it is very much a blessing. My gardens are my therapy, my magical place. Enjoy yourself as you sink your hands into the dirt to create. It is its own art form. And you are the artist behind it.

LOVING THE SKATEBOARD!!!! IT’S PERFECT FOR THE FRONT PORCH!!! NOW LET’S DISCUSS THOSE TERACOTTA POTS…THE ONE ON THE BOTTOM IS DISTRESSED AND I LOVE IT BUT THE OTHER 2 LOOK BRAND NEW. I HAVEN’T BEEN FOLLOWING YOU VERY LONG, AND BY FOLLOW, I MEAN, STALK!!! (TEE HEE) BUT IT SEEMS TO ME THAT THE TOP 2 TERACOTTA POTS AREN’T REALLY YOUR STYLE. CORRECT ME IF I’M WRONG, BECAUSE I’M A GROWN WOMAN AND I CAN HANDLE IT! BTW, I’M VERY JEALOUS OF YOUR CHICKS & HENS…THAT IS ONE GORGEOUS PIECE OF PLART (PLANT + ART)!

I think I’m suffering from severe oil can envy :/ They just epitomize the era of porches, sidewalk skating, next door neighbors (that reported skinned knees & lost toenails with a popsicle from the ice cream truck)

I miss the smell, the way they pop & squeak in use… and they make me think of my Dad. I miss him too. Thanks for being the bearer of happy memories of better days. 🙂

…ride the skateboard. Just make sure you have an ice cream truck on the way 🙂
