Wow. I sincerely hope that the weather has been as wonderful where you are as it’s been here. The temperatures officially passed 70 degrees today. Last year, it took until April 26th to get this nice.

I’m just so incredibly thankful for this weather and sunshine. I’m soaking it up as much as I can.

Over the past couple days I’ve been busy cleaning up some of the nastiness that winter left behind.

Tuesday, I swept of my porch and whipped down all my porch furniture. Raked the yard and dug for signs of spring.

I found some.

I also broke out my grill and cooked up some chicken and veggies. Honestly, you can’t beat chicken on the grill.

I marinated mine all day in Kraft’s Light Sesame Asian Dressing. (I think that’s what it is called.) Delicious! The veggies got a drizzle of olive oil and lemon juice and a dash of salt and pepper.

Then last night I made roasted cabbage.

I never thought of myself as a big fan of cabbage, but this was to die for! By the end of the night, I ending up eating the entire head. So delicious and so simple. Click here for the recipe. I found it via Pinterest of course!

I’ve also been fortunate enough to squeeze in a five milk walk/run/jog every day this week. I even got a little suntan on my face … in March!! Can you believe it!?

So how’s the weather been in your area? How have YOU been enjoying it?

It’s well up into the 80s already. A little early for that much heat, but I’ll take it. LOL

We’ll be going out for our walk tonight for sure. It’s a beautiful evening just MADE for a walk around Lake Baldwin.

I guess cabbage will be on my shopping list this week. That recipe looks delicious!

It’s been ridiculously awesome here too. So much that even though Gbe has bronchitis, all he wants to do is run around our yard with sticks in both his hand and play in dirt. SO I let him. I actually managed to get some yard work done too at the same time. I saw little buds sprouting through on my hydrangea bushes too. I think we might actually do some mulching this weekend since it’s supposed to be just as awesome. And you *may* have convinced me to try cabbage. I love anything roasted so it would make sense that I’d like cabbage too. Have a fantastic weekend Michael!

btw, totally gonna email you back tonight!

It was 85 here today, in Richmond, VA. Crazy. I think I will make that cabbage on Saturday. My husband likes his cabbage cooked with the corned beef in the crock pot but I like mine separate. Thanks for sharing!

It’s crazy warm here…in the 80’s and my garden needs weeding ALREADY! Oh no! We love cabbage here and I may do this for St Pats instead of boiling! Thanks!

I’m am crazy jealous! I live near Seattle, WA and we’re in the minority of the country which is not seeing unseasonably high temps right now. Temps here are in the mid to upper 40s! We’ve already had more rain this month than our average March, but the month is only half over. AND I just read today that “Every day this month, save for March 7, has had 70% cloud cover or more, with 10 of the 14 days at 90% or more.” I’m ready for June to roll around. 🙁

Hi Michael – It has been really nice here in the Phila area – I hope it lasts. We will probably get a blizzard in April.
I love cabbage and usually saute it. Just came back from printing the Roasted Cabbage recipe. Can’t wait to try it. YUM!

I agree, the weather over the last few days has been AMAZING! I live on the Eastern Shore of Maryland, and yesterday and today we broke and tied records, reaching at least 80 degrees 🙂 It has been awesome!

There is something about warm weather that is motivating. I’ve been doing my 30 minute walk/jog everyday that I can this week (so far I only missed yesterday), and I even got to sunbathe a little and wash my car today 🙂

Hope you have a good weekend!

Well, since we are practically neighbors.. 😉 We are enjoying the Spring weather, too! I can’t believe it’s here already!! Next week is supposed to be even nicer!

Whether or not you’d like to participate is up to you – I’ll still love your blog either way, but if you’re interested details are on my blog. Thanks, and keep writing!

I have enjoyed the beautiful weather too! Unfortunately today is not so nice, but only 4 days til spring! Yay! I love roasting veggies, I think it brings out all the flavor. Never tried cabbage before, but I will def try this tomorrow with the corned beef. If you like brussel sprouts, try them roasted, absolutely delish!

Sounds like a wonderful way to kick off spring! I know you are enjoying it very much! We have already experienced mid-80’s here in South Carolina which has been great for starting work in our new yard. Now that roses and peonies are planted, I am ready to start my raised vegetable beds.

    Have a great weekend!

You are so inspiring! I’m glad you’re fitting in the time to enjoy the simple things like sunshine and gardening. I think sun just flat out makes the world a better place! We’re still stuck in our rain season so the good weather hasn’t hit quite yet.

Your meals sound so easy and delish! Writing things down! A bird started to build a nest inside our grill again… it only got to one blade of grass this year before I caught it. Whew… that was close! One summer I had to have it closed all season due to 2 rounds of hatching eggs. 🙂

It’s been about 79 for two days in Chicago.
    Seriously? Chicago in March?
We’re supposed to be having freak snowstorms.
    Raining like a banchee.

(Why is everything attributed to the banchees?
Can you “Love em like a banchee? I wonder.)

Anyway, somehow Chicago totally skipped Winter, and we’re into late Spring. Shrug. I don’t mind 🙂

This weather is gorgeous, isn’t it?! So motivating to see the sun and so unheard of for March! 77 and sunny tomorrow, Michael! Woo hoo!

I’m sharing your post with my husband. He loves to cook (and does all the cooking for that reason…he just enjoys it) and we’ve had roasted cabbage before but this one seems a little different and worth a try!

    Have a great weekend!

    Well, from Southern California…
we are waiting, hoping, wishing, all limbs crossed….for rain.
While you enjoy the warmer than usual temps..
we are hoping for at least one day of winter before it’s gone for the year. I’ve yet to put on a coat this year.
    Enjoy the gardening:-)

We are in the early stages of planning a night at your inn. I (and I feel I am not the only one) am a blog follower who truly feels that I know you! You have a very warm blog and your personality seems to shine through! Keep up the good work. BTW….the weather in southwestern PA is fantastic!

Hi Michael ~ I’m in northern IL and it’s been in the high 70’s – low 80’s here! I’m loving working in the yard lately and being surprised every day with the perennials that are popping up. My lilac bush is blooming and so is one of my butterfly bushes.

Your chicken and veggies look so good – and healthy! I need to get some more exercise in…thanks for the reminder.

So glad you enjoyed the roasted cabbage, and thanks for the shout out! I’m loving the spring-like weather in Utah too.
