so, i’m pretty sure this is shannon’s way of saying getting your blogging ass back in gear michael. so here’s the poop. the lovely and talented (and amazing new small business owner/party planner [i’m just tickled with excitement for her] has tagged me in a post. a meme post to be exact. so, here goes…

What this is about: To unite bloggers (from all sectors) in a joint endeavor to share lessons learned and create a bank of long but not forgotten blog posts that deserve to see the light of day again.

Rules:

1. blogger is nominated to take part

2. blogger publishes his/her 7 links on his/her blog – 1 link for each category.

– your most beautiful post

– your most popular post

– your most controversial post

– your most helpful post

– a post whose success surprised you

– a post you feel didn’t got the attention it deserved

– the post that you are most proud of

3. blogger nominates up to 5 more bloggers to take part.

4. these bloggers publish their 7 links and nominate another 5 more bloggers

5. And so it goes on!

my most beautiful post is kind of a personal one. last September i visited my brother and his family with my mom. We went to a winery that afternoon. we snacked, drank wine, took pictures and just had a good time.  family is amazingly important and my nephews and niece mean the world to me… thus making this, my most beautiful post.

my most popular post (according to bloggers stats page) would be a post ‘two for your nerves‘ from when i was a ‘sign painter’ for two months in the dead of winter this past year. boy, did i love painting these signs. this one was probably my favorite. I painted about a dozen signs and only two are still in my house. I hope the others i sold have found a lovely home! looking at these signs makes me miss painting. maybe this winter will inspired me again!

my most controversial post, though not highly controversial, would have to be when i posed the question about the artwork in my dining room. I tend to avoid controversy and conflict at all costs, so this is as heated as it gets here at inspiredbycharm …though some of the comments were quite emotional. Luckily, things worked out and all is well in the dining room.

my most helpful post is exactly helpful, i guess. (i’m kinda stretching the rules here.) last august i went to my first outstanding in the field dinner and it was beyond amazing. if you are a food and wine lover you need to add this experience to your ‘life list.’ beyond enjoyable! so much so that i’m going to my second dinner in a couple weeks. i’m kind of hoping this becomes an annual event for me! so, this post is the most helpful because i’m suggesting telling you that you must attend one of these dinners.

a post whose success surprised me would have to be my chalkboard windows. One day, i had nothing to post, so i took a couple pictures of my chalkboard wall in my gift shoppe, wrote a few sentences and hit the ‘publish post’ button. it’s probably the post on my blog with the most comments and one of the top five viewed post. crazy how these things happen.

the post i felt that didn’t get he attention it deserved was probably my curtain reveal and tutorial. i can’t tell you how long i spent on putting this post together. craziness. even stopping to take pictures while working on the project was tough. i was so happy with how these turned out, and i really liked the post too. i was expecting comments to come flooding in. oh well. i guess this is life. roll with the punches.

and finally, the post that i’m most proud of is the post that started my ‘a quilt {inspired by charm} project.’ (and yes, i’m STILL working on this … slow and steady wins the race.) the response to the entire project has been incredible. the support and willingness to give … to a complete stranger no less … blows my mind and warms my heart.

thats it! hope you had fun! and welcome to all my new followers, even though i haven’t been around much these days. still working on finding my way back here more regularly. thanks for all the love in the meantime!

(and yes – i probably skipped the part of nominating more people to continue. don’t tell shannon. i guess all good things must come to an end.)

Isn’t it funny what sparks us blog readers? I have to admit that your signs were what stuck with me the most, but I seem to be in a signage rut at the moment, so forgive me. The drapes are stunning and I commend anyone who is willing to tackle such a project and still have them look so breathtaking! I get so few readers and even less comments on my blog, but I don’t put myself out there much. I’m too lazy… hee hee hee.
