Halloween Cocktails – Two Ways

The other day a blogger friend of mine mentioned on Facebook that one of her Halloween cocktails was featured on the House Beautiful website. I was super excited for her. As I was scrolling through all of the deliciously tempting libations, I noticed another familiar cocktail, the Haunted Highball. This was a cocktail that I created last year for a brand, but never shared here on IBC. Shame on me!

So that’s what I’m doing today. It’s Halloween Cocktails – Two Ways!

Cocktails are an easy way to bring a signature element to any party. When creating themed cocktails, I find it helpful to stick to a classic recipe. Then I simply tweak the ingredients or the presentation to make the drink especially appropriate for the season or celebration.

For this first cocktail, the Vampire’s Kiss, I opted for a lemon martini base. This classic cocktail is a go-to for many, so I know the flavor combination is a winner.

To give it a spooky twist, I rimmed the martini glass with red gel frosting. With two small red drips down the glass, it looks like it could be Count Dracula’s nightly cocktail.

Let’s shake one up!

Okay, let’s move on to our next cocktail, the Haunted Highball.

Here I’m doing a classic white chocolate drink with a splash of hazelnut liqueur to make it a bit more seasonal.

To give this drink a haunted touch, I used a dry-erase marker. This kind of marker is easily wiped off non-porous surfaces so it works well on glass.

Before adding the cocktail, I drew a couple ghost faces on my highball glass. Once filled with the white concoction, these cocktails look ghoulishly good.

  1. I love the decorative drinks – so easy and fun! I am embarrassed to say I have gone straight past Halloween and onto Christmas! Yikes – I just want to get my projects done in time this year! (Not that an early start for me guarantees success.) But I will continue to enjoy your Fall and Halloween ideas. I am very glad YOU get things done for us!
