Holiday Home Tour | Inspired by Charm

It’s Day 8 of the 12 Days of Christmas! Welcome back, everyone.

12 Day of Christmas : Day 8

Today is sort of a special day. I’m doing Part One of my Holiday Home Tour. In an ideal world, I’d just have one home tour for Christmas, however, I’m not quite finished decorating. I know, I know. I’m probably the only blogger who didn’t have this task completed weeks ago, but whatcha gonna do? Most of it is finished, Still … my mantel needs to be tweaked, I’ve barely touched the upstairs, no gifts are wrapped, etc. So, as we get closer to Christmas (hopefully in a week or so), I’ll show you around again.

Today, in addition to the 12 Days of Christmas Series, I’m participating in The White Buffalo Styling Co.’s Blogger Stylin’ Home Tours Christmas 2014. Wow. That’s a mouthful, but it should be. Lindsay has put together a truly amazing Holiday Home Tour. It’s a week long and features over 40 bloggers. Talk about inspiration, right?

BSHT Christmas 2014

The White Buffalo Styling Co. started off the tour. (Isn’t Lindsay’s house beautifully festive?) If you’re hopping over from there, a hearty welcome to you. In case you’re new to IBC, be sure to join our mailing list, follow on social media, leave a comment, etc. I’m always excited to have new people tagging along. (Besides, this way you’ll know when I post part two of this tour.)

Now I’m going to be quiet now and show you my Christmas decorating progress. I’ll chime in here and there with links and such. If you have any questions, let me know in the comments. Oh, and you can find all my wall colors here.

Sound good?

Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays! I can’t thank you enough for stopping by. Please come back soon. I’ll have wine and cheese and plenty of Christmas cookies.

As I mentioned above, my mantel is only halfway finished. I’m waiting for a few items to arrive in the mail. 90% of the things on it are from Target. The gold wreath is from Treetopia.

This is Tree #2. It’s a flocked tree that I picked up at Walmart. I tried a few different trees in this space, but none of them worked. When I put up this one, I knew I had a winner.

I also decided to put a tree in my bedroom. It’s only partially decorated. Sebastian doesn’t seem to mind.

Your home looks wonderful. Can’t imagine that you are not even finished. It all looks so wonderfully put together.

    • Michael Wurm, Jr. at

Haha. I suppose you’re right. Just a few small touches. And upstairs. I haven’t touched upstairs. And besides … I’m never really finished.

      xo Michael

Well I am feeling all merry & bright now πŸ™‚ I love it all but I swear, my favorite part is your salt and pepper shakers in the dining room. So cool! Way to kick off this awesome tour!

  • Kristin @ Bliss at Home at

Michael!!!! You’ve created such a warm and festive holiday home! I love it all and your tree in the dining area!!! Yeah, those colors are magical. Awesome tour! Cheers πŸ™‚

  • Lindsay at

MICHAEL! I cannot believe you’re not done decorating! Your home looks so gorgeous, I can’t even stand it. I absolutely love all of the color and personality and seasonal cheer that you’ve infused into every nook and cranny. But I do get what you’re saying, I NEVER feel done or decorated enough. I guess that’s why we do what we do! Looking forward to tour Part 2. Thank you so much for joining in on the tour! What an honor πŸ™‚

Always a fan of your style! Love the hanging chair and how you incorporated it!. Huge fan of faux taxidermy…offering a silver stag on my blog this week to help “Deck Those Halls”!

  • cassie at

such a fun and gorgeous home! i love that pop of red on the mantle and love the rainbow wreath!

  • Mary @ Bake Me A Scone at

Everything looks so cozy. Your decorated trees are truly inspired. A feast for the eyes!

  • Jessica at

Love all the bottle brush trees and the vintage ornaments throughout!

  • Vanessa at

WOW-I just love everything! Love the kitchen-that is always the space that is hard for me to decorate at Christmas!

  • Funky Junk Interiors at

Well, I adore your half decorated home just the way it is! Maybe cats are onto something… πŸ™‚

Seriously, your home looks just wonderful! I imagine myself walking into your gorgeous office, sitting down at the computer, but being distracted by all the Christmas glam. Then giving up, I’d raid your hot cocoa station, plunk myself down on your sofa, and light the fireplace, waiting for one of your cats to saunter by.

I’m sure you do that all day though…. right?! πŸ™‚

  • Reenie at

    Love your trees!! So pretty.

  • Kris at

Everything is beautiful! Your house is chock full of Christmas spirit and looks lovely! My very favorites are your grandma’s sweet little deer and the red houses. Thanks, Michael!

  • Julie Blanner at

You really know how to deck the halls! Gorgeous! I am obsessed with those red baskets & tiny little deer. Nothing sweeter than incorporating heirlooms!

  • Whitney at

I love so much of this! I especially like the log riser for your tree in the kitchen. Cute idea and different than what I usually see logs used for. The pillow in the middle on the bench… Where did you get that? I love it. I also like the red buckets next to the fireplace. Where are those from?

    • Michael Wurm, Jr. at

Whitney – You must like Target. Both the pillow and red buckets are from there. I think last year??

      xo Michael

  • Angela B at

I love your home (and your cat). Can’t wait to see the rest of the tour.

  • EagleMom at

Fantastic. Love the vintage/old school/colorful approach. I appreciate you style & enjoy your photos. Merry Christmas! xoxo

I’ve never seen such a beautiful home. Everything looks fantastic. Merry Christmas πŸ™‚

  • Jenna at Boston Chic Party at

Michael, everything is beyond beautiful! I think I wouldn’t leave my house the whole month of December if I was you just to enjoy my festively gorgeous home! Merry Christmas!

  • Nancy Carr at

Michael, you have a wonderful creative home. Two questions: in one photo you had 7 bottles hanging upside down in a holder of some kind on the wall. What are in those bottles? The other question is about the marshmallow wreath. How did you adhere the marshmallows to the wreath? Thanks for sharing.

    • Michael Wurm, Jr. at

      Nancy –

You got it. The bottle are wine. Haha. They holder was from Pottery Barn about 8 years ago.

The marshmallow wreath … it’s a foam form. I used a combination of toothpicks and hot glue. It wasn’t the easiest thing to make. However, I made it last year and it still looks great this year.

      Hope that helps!

      xo Michael

  • Brenda Nicholson at

LOVE LOVE LOVE the chandy, your kitchen island, and that lampshade in the living room! It’s all gorgeous!!

  • Marley Barduhn at

    Hi Michael,

Love your navy tree! You’ve inspired me to consider a violet, purple, lavender gradient on Treetopia’s Tinkerbell Silver tree. Love that color and with ombre purple, wow.

  • Summer at

Stunning as always Michael! The tree, the glass balls on the chandy, the mantel, everything! Love, love, love!

  • Katie at

  • Jennifer at

I love every stinken detail, seriously, you have an eye for mixing and matching colors and styles and making it look SO good together!

  • Linda at

Your house is decorated beautifully. You have so many pretty and festive things all around. I always wonder where people who have so many decorations for all the holidays store things? I really try to limit myself since i just don’t have a lot of extra space, despite having 3 bdrms and a garage. So thankfully i can enjoy your decor instead!!

    • Michael Wurm, Jr. at

I totally hear you Linda. There are days I want to cut back too. However, it brings me so much joy. I don’t have many vices – so if having too much holiday decor is one of them, I don’t think that’s half bad. Haha!

      xo Michael

  • Amy at

I love your style! What is the color on the walls in the room with the tree and mantel? I love the calm minty green – do share! πŸ™‚

  • marti at

Oh how I love your trees!! I really like the “island” in your office, where’s it from?

    • Michael Wurm, Jr. at

Thanks so much Marti! It’s actually a vintage workbench. I added a woodblock countertop to the top.

      xo Michael

  • Debra White at

I love everything. You did an amazing job decorating for Christmas. Such a mixture of bright and festive, colorful, vintage, modern, etc. etc. Loving it!!!

  • jessica @fourgenerationsoneroof at

“Be-in’s that” you are a rockstar and all, your home is gorgeous! I love your living room! Simply stunning all around πŸ˜‰

Everything is absolutely gorgeous! What really caught my eye are your beautiful blue and green antique-looking Christmas tree bulbs that you have displayed. Where did you get them? ~Suzanne

    • Michael Wurm, Jr. at

The are actually from HomeGoods! They sold them in bundles last year. I saw a few in store this year as well.

      xo Michael

Your home is always one of my favorites, no matter the occasion. Everything looks absolutely beautiful!

  • Carrie at

Absolutely stunning. You are incredibly talented. I LOVE LOVE LOVE the color. Adore everything about it. Fantastic. I can’t stop gushing about it! On a side note, where is the living room rug from? With the triangles?

    • Michael Wurm, Jr. at

It was from CB2 – not sure if they still sell it.

      xo Michael

  • Sarah at

You won me over with your love of the movie Elf! And as always the gorgeous riot of color in your home is to die for!

  • Monica at

Just pinned a photo…stunning Christmas decor and so festive with the mix of modern and vintage!! So glad i found your blog thanks for all the tips and I love Target as well!!!

  • Amanda at

I love all of this! 2 questions: the rug under the couch – where is that from? Those colors are perfect with my interior & I’m looking to replace my current one! And that end table is to die for … Where would one find that?

    • Michael Wurm, Jr. at

The rug was from, however I don’t think they sell it anymore.

The end table is from WestElm.

      Hope that helps!
