After finally hanging my bedroom light fixture last week, I am determined to make some progress in my bedroom. Instead of just doing one big reveal (because that has never been practical for me), I’m going to be sharing little pieces of my makeover as it happens. I hope you are cool with that.
While things may not look finished or just-quite-right along the way, my plan is let you know where I’m headed and how this space is coming together. It’s more fun this way, right? For me, design doesn’t happen overnight. It’s a process.
Today I’m taking you back into the closet portion of my bedroom to share a new piece I’m super excited about. When I originally decided to make this space into a closet, one thing on my must-have list was a large overstuffed ottoman for the center of the room. I wanted a place where I could sit, put on shoes, throw a pile of clothes when I’m feeling lazy, etc.
Well, today my must-have piece is finally here! After a lot of research, I chose the Tasha Ottoman from La-Z-Boy.
Isn’t it a beauty?
I like this piece for so many reasons. One, it’s the right size for the space. Two, I wanted something round. Three, I love the tufting detail on top. Finally, I had the option of custom ordering it in a wide variety of fabrics / colors.
Because of the overall look in the space, I opted for leather in Ultramarine. It’s a beautiful deep blue that works perfectly with my color palette. I also think it adds a touch of masculinity. That was definitely a goal for my bedroom, so I was pleased to see that element come to life with the inclusion of this piece.
If you remember, I previously had a blue upholstered armchair in this space, but it was throwing everything off so I pulled it out for the time being. However, I would still like to get some sort of small chair for this space.
Besides the ottoman, I brought in a new rug. But we’ll talk about that in another post.
I’m so excited to have this new ottoman. And because it’s a quality piece of furniture in a color that I love, I know it’s going to be around for years to come. What do you think?
This post was created as part of my collaboration with La-Z-Boy. As always, all of the opinions, thoughts, and ideas in this post are my own.
