My mom’s birthday is this week. With yesterday being a holiday, she had the day off so we scooted out of town (our go-to spot is State College, PA for those wondering) for a little celebrating via retail therapy. I found some pretty sweet things I thought I’d share with you today. Sound good?
After picking up a White Chocolate Mocha at Starbucks (You guys are aware I live about 1.5 hours from any decent shopping, so hitting up places like Starbucks and Target are a pretty big deal, right?), we headed to HomeGoods. I was so excited to see that they had a fab selection of Jonathan Adler products. Can I get a “Woot, woot!”? While I mostly resisted temptation, I practically squealed out loud when I saw these lamps. I had almost bought them from another retailer, but didn’t because of the price. At only $50 each (originally $129), this time the decision was simple.
Not to get into too much detail right now, but I’m planning to tackle the three bedrooms in the upstairs of my house. With a new attitude toward life, I’m hoping I’ll find what I need to get these projects moving. (More on that soon.) However, these lamps will be perfect in one of the rooms I’m redoing.
I also bought more pillows. Seriously people, I’m having a major couch pillow dilemma. While I love all the pillows I found, they just aren’t working for me. So instead of making a plan, I just keep buying pillows. I’m afraid it’s gotten a little out of control. So, as much as I love these, I’m afraid they are still not “the ones.” Am I the only one who struggles with pillows? Save me!
Back to some other no-so-stressful purchases. I found this adorable ceramic piggy. He’s going to get a few succulents planted in his back.
We then went over to the mother ship, Target. With all of the shelving in my office and living room I was on the hunt for a few knick knacks. I fell in love with this yellow vase. They come in different shapes and colors and I wanted to take them all home, I showed restraint and stuck with this guy.
Okay, I lied. I also picked up a similar one in navy for a future bedroom project.
This little green bowl was begging to come home with me, too, so into the cart it went.
Then, I picked up a few of these brown craft polka dot bags. It’s always nice to have cute, neutral, inexpensive bags on hand. For 75 cents a piece, I bought them all.
At Michael’s I picked up some canvases, paint, and gold leaf for a fun DIY art project for the wall space above my TV. Hopefully, I will start that this weekend and share the details with you next week.
We also hit up the mall and I picked up a few more personal products. I’ve been on a hunt for some new cologne and fell in love with the Luna Rossa fragrance from Prada. From what I understand, it was inspired by sailing so it will be perfect for summer. It’s very crisp and clean. Maybe a little citrusy with herbal notes and a slight touch of wood. Haha. I know that sounds crazy, but it’s awesome. Ladies and gents if you’re looking for something for yourself or a significant other, this comes highly recommended.
And I also found a little emerald gingham at the Gap. I have a hard time resisting gingham anything.
In other news, my brass pineapple bookends from Hunters Alley arrived and they are better than I imagined. Commence freak out.
Speaking of BHG, earlier this week I was talking about geometric patterns on Style Spotters. You can check that out here.
And that’s about it for me. What new treasures have you found recently that got you really excited?
