Pumpkin Brownies

As I mentioned in yesterday’s post, September marks the beginning of fall for me. Because pumpkin is among my favorite flavors, I am always more than excited to have an excuse to start some fall baking. I found this recipe from Better Home and Gardens for Pumpkin Brownies. I made it even easier by using a box of brownie mix rather than making the brownies from scratch. My box mix of choice right now is Chewy Fudge Brownies from Duncan Hines.

  1. I’ve made this version of the recipe twice now and both times the brownies were delicious but too soft- what bake time do you use? Do you bake them according to the box (brownie mix), according to the recipe or somewhere in between? Thanks!

    1. I baked according to the box mix, but I always test them with a tooth pick. When it comes out clean, I know I’m good. I also prefer the Duncan Hines brownie mix and I make my according to the ‘cake-like’ directions. I hope that helps!

  2. This recipe looks delish, I love all things pumpkin especially deserts. You mention that you make this recipe with the Brownie box mix, but my question is when using the brownie mix do you just mix in the pumpkin and the cream cheese and that’s it to your way of making this recipe.
Please let me know as I am eager to make this desert.
