Yep, that’s how I roll …yesterday I’m talking about diets, today I’m baking over the top deliciousness!

A couple weeks ago I found a recipe for cinnamon rolls that used a cinnamon butter spread. It was dated a while back and when I looked for said cinnamon spread at the grocery store it wasn’t there. So I improvised, made my own spread, and the rolls were fantastic. Based on that little experiment I thought I would take it a little further and use nutella instead of cinnamon, butter, and sugar.

And thus was born Nutella Rolls with Cream Cheese Icing!

And let me tell you, these suckers are delicious!

Ready to get started?

Here’s what you’ll need to make 8 Nutella Rolls

Rolls:
1 can Pillsbury Grands Biscuits
3/4 – 1 cup Nutella
Flour and Sugar for rolling

Cream Cheese Icing:
4oz Cream Cheese (softened)
1 tsp Vanilla
1 1/2 cups Powdered Sugar

That’s it! Let’s go!

Begin by preheating your oven to 350 degrees and spraying eight sections of a muffin pan with cooking or baking spray.

Lightly flour and sugar your surface. (I add a little sugar to sweeten up the dough)

Using a rolling pin, roll out each biscuit until it’s about double in size.

Grab your nutella and spread about 1-2 tablespoons on each piece of dough.

Then, roll up your dough.

Once each piece is rolled, cut into three sections.

Then, place the three pieces, cut side up, into one section of the muffin tin.

Repeat for all eight rolls.

Bake for about 15 minutes.

Allow the rolls to cool for about five minutes, then remove from the pan.

While the rolls cool, it time to whip up the cream cheese icing! Add the cream cheese, vanilla and powder sugar to a bowl. Whip with a whisk until smooth.

While your rolls are still a little warm on the inside, slather on some icing!

And that’s it! Serve and enjoy!

  1. Just made these! My family loved them! I used all the frosting, but it was a bit too much (words I didn’t think I’d ever say!). I think you could use half the frosting amount and they would be perfect! I only had enough Nutella to do 4 biscuits. The other 4 I smeared butter and cinnamon sugar on before rolling up. Delicious! Thank you for this wonderful, easy, yet elegant looking recipe!

  2. Made these last night. We had an early dinner and I just needed a little something sweet 🙂 I used a can of small biscuits instead of the jumbo ones (because that’s what I had on hand) and they came out much smaller, but still delicious. I skipped the icing and just sprinkled with powdered sugar, mostly because I was too lazy to make the icing! They were great this morning too warmed up with a cup of tea. Thanks for posting, it was just what I needed.

  3. SO glad you shared this! This combo is my favorite. I love to make plain vanilla cupcakes and I mix nutella, cream cheese, and a dash of whipping cream to loosen it up. It’s a godsend and I will literally eat every cupcake just to get that nutella goodness!

  4. These nutella rolls look so yumm.
My kid loves cupcakes – and I can easily pass these as cupcakes for her snacks (atleast till she gets a hang that these are not the real deal)
First time here – will be back for more.
    You have a wonderful site.
